Our style is difficult to characterise, but it is safe to say its eclectic! We aim to offer our customers a range of furniture and home ware that feels both personal and unique. We try to stock interesting and beautiful things, and are very keen on timeless qualities, the authentic and well made.
You will find anything from rustic tableware and vintage enamel to hand dyed French linens, utility & mid century furniture items and our original reupholstered vintage chairs. We are gradually adding to the range a collection of stylish and covetable artist & craft made home wares and decorative accessories.
Vintage Batik Indigo Dyed Cushion. Oblong. Wool Pad.
Beautiful pieces of Chinese indigo dyed batik cloth have been used to make up a batch of special one off cushions for Homeward. The batik is around 50 years old and would originally have been the bottom pleated section of a traditional migration skirt.
We have backed them with gorgeous slubby antique hemp linen and finished with a dark navy concealed zip.
We offer two types of cushion fillers here, the usual duck feather and now to give the ducks a break British sheep wool. British Wool is an under used resource, with farmers often getting less for a fleece than what they pay to have a sheep sheared...Crazy!
Wool is eco friendly and sustainable, durable and long lasting, is anti allergenic and offers a soft, stable feel, allows air flow and circulation and as a natural material is compliant with fire safety regulations.
